Senior Madison Mogen, age 21, was killed on November 13, 2022 in Moscow, Idaho. She was one of the four University of Idaho students, Mogen, also known as Maddie, who was killed just before Thanksgiving. Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, 20, of Conway, Washington, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, of Rathdrum are the other three.
In addition to majoring in marketing and joining the Pi Beta Phi sorority, Maddie Mogen, an Idaho native from Coeur d’Alene, also worked with Kernodle at the Mad Greek restaurant. A memorial service for all four students was held at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 11 a.m. Anyone who knew and loved Madison attended.
The internet has been buzzing with a video showing a man in a white hoodie watching Mogen and Goncalves place their orders at the food truck. It was later discovered through a police inquiry that the suspicious individual was also present at the club with them. He is currently being observed and questioned by the police.

Along with the video clip, a white Elantra with an unknown license plate has also drawn attention. The Independent reports that the car is being sought out by the police investigation team since it was around the residence when the murder was committed.
Maddie Mogen Cause of Death
On the evening when the four students were killed, Mogen and Goncalves were at the Corner Club in the heart of Moscow. They were discovered at the Grub Truck, a nearby food truck, at about 1:40 a.m., before a private party drove them home. At 2:45 a.m., they arrived.
The four students were killed between 4 and 4:25 in the morning, according to the investigations. Mogen and Goncalves were found sleeping next to each other on the third level of the house when police arrived at the crime scene. They had both been stabbed. Madison had been seeing Jake Schriger, a fellow University of Idaho student, for the previous two years. They were deeply in love and making plans for the future. He spoke up for the first time on December 2 during the vigil and declared his love for Madison.
He said he used to talk to her at all hours of the day and night. Benjamin, Maddie’s father, expressed his joy that his daughter had found love and that she had dated a lovely man like Jake after his speech.
