Paul Estridge Jr. had faced health challenges, including a lung transplant in November 2020, which was meant to treat his incurable lung condition called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Unfortunately, he recently contracted a lung infection that proved fatal.

Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to the homebuilding industry, experiencing both successes and challenges. In 2022, he was honoured as one of IBJ’s Indiana 250, recognizing the state’s influential business leaders.

Estridge’s companies have built more than 9,000 homes in central Indiana since 1967. During the early 2000s, his firm employed 150 people and constructed numerous homes annually.

However, the Great Recession had a significant impact on The Estridge Group and other builders. Housing permits in central Indiana dropped from 13,202 in 2005 to 3,720 in 2010, according to the Greater Indianapolis Builders Association.
