On the evening of Saturday, September 2nd, there was a fatal shooting at the DeSoto County Fair, and police are currently looking for three individuals who may have information about the incident. The Arcadia Police Department has indicated that they need to speak with two males and a young woman who were in a social media video.
“We are aware that there is a video that has been circulating social media, and many of you have already seen it,” the
Arcadia Police Department wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday.
“We are looking for the person who initially recorded that video, and would like to speak to them.”
“A young Hispanic female wearing a black jacket and light jeans, male subject wearing a light shirt and shorts, and an adult male standing in the back that appears to have a beard”

This footage was recorded on the second night of the DeSoto County Fair, not long after gunfire broke out. In a statement also released by the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, the DeSoto County Fair Association confirmed the death of a 17-year-old. The victim was a male, 17 years old, according to NBC affiliate WBBH.

“The DeSoto County Fair Association would first and foremost like to send its heartfelt condolences to the family of the young man who lost his life last night,”
The association said.
At least one person was shot at the fair, the sheriff’s office reported late Saturday, and the suspect is still at large.
“Our men and women of the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office and Arcadia Police Department responded with great determination after the incident last night to render aid and assist the public,”
It said its own statement on Sunday,
“Both the DCSO and APD followed up on leads into the early morning hours.”
The DeSoto County Fair Association shut down the midway on Sunday after the teen’s murder, but the livestock grooming competition and the Jr. Miss DeSoto pageant went on as scheduled in the afternoon with extra security.
“These areas will also be heavily guarded with local law enforcement to ensure the safety of everyone involved,”
