If you enjoy procedural television in any form, Fox’s popular series 9-1-1 is the one for you. It looks at how first responders live while juggling the demands of their crucial occupations, including dispatchers, firefighters, police officers, and others.
Also, 9-1-1 has a true predilection for outrageous plotlines, as evidenced by the Season 6 debut. Was it a terrifying blimp that crashed into a stadium on purpose? Beyond all the amazing lifesaving, 9-1-1 is where we go to see the amazing characters.
Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Chimney (Kenneth Choi), one of our all-time favorite couples, have had an unbelievable emotional roller coaster since the middle of Season 5. Both Jennifer Love Hewitt and Maddie have given birth to children, which causes Jennifer’s character both immense joy and significant suffering.
Though people continue to inquire if Jennifer Love Hewitt is expecting, fans aren’t ready to go past Maddie’s pregnancy. Is she?
Is Jennifer Love Hewitt Pregnant With Her Fourth Child?
No, Jennifer Love Hewitt is not pregnant right now, so don’t try to fetch her! Finally, Maddie will return to 9-1-1 for what should be an uninterrupted season, and some showgoers are already hoping for a second child. If you remember, Maddie suddenly disappeared during an episode in October 2021, and we were unprepared.
Who else wasn’t prepared, do you know? Chimney and Jee-Yun, their infant daughter. Unfortunately, Maddie was grappling with postpartum depression, and she did the smart thing by choosing to take care of her mental health. Thankfully she left Chimney a message (According to AOL)
“I’m sure that you are confused, hurt, and probably really scared. I don’t know what to say. You don’t need to go to the police or come looking for me. I’m not in any danger and no one is making me do this,” she wrote.
“But Jee is not safe with me. Not now — I know that you’re going to take really good care of her. And she’s better off without me. I love you. I love both of you, and I’m really sorry.”
Jennifer stated in a TVLine interview that she found out she was pregnant when she heard Maddie would also be expecting.
“I also ended up sort of being on my own postpartum journey as I was filming her postpartum episodes,” she revealed. “It was actually very helpful. My postpartum was sort of rushed through because I had to give it all to Maddie. [Playing that character] gave me a place to put all the emotions. So, it helped me, in real life, push through it probably a lot faster than I would have. I was very grateful for that.”

Maddie wasn’t just struggling with depression. She was also diagnosed with postpartum thyroiditis, a treatable condition in which a person’s thyroid inflamed after birth, per TV Line. What Jennifer respected about Maddie’s birth storyline was the care put into figuring out what was happening to her (as reported by Hello Magazine)
“I’m sure there will be women out there watching who will think, ‘I’ve been feeling weird, maybe I need to go ask for that and look more into that.’ Or reach out to people and say, ‘I’m not feeling right,’ and they have to pay attention.”
