According to the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office, an automobile accident on US-2 claimed the lives of two Ohio residents.
The two fatalities were two occupants in the car. About 13 miles west of St. Ignace in Moran Township, the driver lost control and collided with another car while traveling on US-2.
At nearby hospitals, four other persons who had been hurt were being treated. No names have been disclosed. According to the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office, the collision was caused by strong winds, blowing snow, and slick roadways.

The Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office received support from Straits Area Ambulance, St. Ignace Fire and Rescue, Brevort Fire, Hendricks Fire, Hudson Fire, Garfield EMS, Emmet County EMS, Mackinaw City Fire and Rescue, Michigan Department of Transportation, Michigan State Police Accident Reconstruction out of Gaylord with Accident Investigators from Sault Ste. Marie and Gaylord, and dispatch centers from Chippewa Central Dispatch and Cheboygan-Charlevoi.
